McMaster Global to highlight commitment to global citizenship and sustainable development
The third annual McMaster Global event series will run this year from November 2 – 13, 2020. The series, which will be held virtually this year, is an annual showcase of the University’s collective commitment to global engagement. All Faculties, research centres, departments, and student organizations are invited to host online academic and cultural events – ranging from research presentations to expert panel discussions.
McMaster Global also celebrates International Education Week (IEW), focused on global learning and experiential opportunities, from November 2 – 6, 2020. IEW is held in over 100 countries around the world to highlight the importance international education plays in furthering our social, economic, and cultural well-being.
“McMaster Global presents a unique opportunity to engage in transdisciplinary dialogue, address critical global issues, and promote global citizenship,” says Andrea Baumann, associate vice-president, Global Health. “We’re proud to support these events.”
All McMaster Global participants are encouraged to link their events to one or more of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These goals are a blueprint for a better world – and the event series aims to highlight the various ways McMaster is working to make the SDGs a reality.
