Global Health Speaker Series – His Excellency Cees Kole, Ambassador of the Netherlands to Canada, on Internationalization in Higher Education – January 25, 2016
The Global Health Speaker Series, which invites global health experts from all over the world to speak at McMaster University, will host His Excellency Cees Kole, Ambassador of the Netherlands to Canada, on January 25, 2016.
In this talk, Ambassador Kole will explore the issues involved in internationalizing higher education and the importance of strong educational and multidimensional partnerships. In terms of international education specifically, he will address the need to design the future of global health using a multidisciplinary approach, and a connection between research, industry and policy.
Ambassador Kole joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1984. From 1985 – 1995, he held postings at the Netherlands Embassy in Warsaw, the Queen’s Cabinet and at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in The Hague. Subsequently, Mr. Kole held positions including Director of the Information and Communication Department, MFA, The Hague; Deputy Head of Mission, Minister Plenipotentiary, Netherlands Embassy in Paris; and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Netherlands in Tehran.
