Global Health Program Off to a Great Start: Orientation Week Highlights
The MSc Global Health program kicked off a great orientation week (Sept 8-11) for incoming 2015-2016 students.
Tuesday, September 8 started with a welcome and introductory presentation that gave students an overview of the program, followed by a Q&A session that offered them the chance to meet faculty and administrative staff.
In the afternoon, students attended a workshop focused on the various technology platforms they will be using throughout the year in this blended learning program.
Then Wednesday was the first Global Health Foundations I lecture, delivered collaboratively by faculty from McMaster and Maastricht, with faculty and peers joining virtually from the Netherlands.
Thankfully, Thursday offered the perfect weather for Global Health students, staff and faculty to participate in a canoe trip down the Grand River – an annual event for new MSc GH program students – followed by lunch, games and team-building activities.
Finally, this year’s action packed orientation week concluded with a graduate student lunch hosted by the School of Graduate Studies at on-campus restaurant Phoenix.
