Introducing the International Congress on Academic Medicine (ICAM), a new conference that is being launched in April of 2023 in Quebec City.
When: April 13th-April 18th, 2023
Where: Quebec City
The theme of this conference is United today for a healthier tomorrow. This new initiative is being led by the Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada (AFMC). It is a unique opportunity for health researchers, medical educators, learners and other leaders in Academic Medicine to network and develop new collaborations with colleagues from across Canada and around the world.
Attendees will have the opportunity to share knowledge in research medical education, and leadership and to discuss common global health issues and develop solutions. There are 3 pillars within ICAM- Health Research, Medical Education and International Programming. One of the exciting aspects of ICAM is that it will bring together all learners in medical/health science faculties.
The Canadian Student Health Research Forum (CSHRF) has been hosted annually at the University of Manitoba. The CSHRF attained unprecedented success that engaged graduate student learners from universities across Canada. Starting next year, the Canadian Student Health Research Forum (CSHRF), will now be embedded within the ICAM research pillar. This health research pillar will also bring together the Clinician Investigator Trainee Association of Canada/Canadian Society for Clinical Investigation Annual Symposium and include MD PhD students and Clinician Investigator Program Trainees from across Canada. A conference agenda has been developed that will integrate our basic-science trainees and our clinician-scientist trainees. This two-and-a-half-day stream of the congress will include keynote speakers, workshops, professional development, mentorship, and poster presentations by the trainees. The health research program committee has also engaged with Dr. Janet Rossant, the president of the Gairdner foundation and partnerships with the Gairdner Foundation will be maintained and ICAM will be hosting the Gairdner Symposium.
Please be sure to register for the conference and submit abstracts using the link provided no later than January 15, 2023.
