MSc in Global Health Winter Term Meet & Greet
Last week, the Global Health program hosted an in-person meet and greet event for the MSc in Global Health students.
Almost sixty students and faculty members gathered for the event which, included McMaster students and mobility exchange students from Maastricht University, and for the first time from Universidad Del Rosario based in Colombia.
In light of this being the first in-person event in two years, Dr. Andrea Baumann, V-P of Global Health program, welcomed students and emphasized the adaptability and flexibility shown over the course of the year which are important skills in the field of global health.
Students had the opportunity to meet with the professors of some of the electives offered in the Winter Term, gain valuable insight into their scholarly paper or thesis topics, and discuss ideas for their summer practicum.
With the Winter Term exchange opportunities in the Global Health program, students build relationships with peers and colleagues within an international academic community.
The event provided time for students to introduce themselves, get to know one another, and learn about opportunities to connect and collaborate with peers.
Expressing their appreciation for the opportunity to meet in-person, the event inspired the potential for future student-led activities such as trips to local waterfalls, coffee shops, and to create opportunities to take photos!
