Bridging Different Worlds, Day 1: Arriving in Manipal
The day had finally arrived – students from McMaster and Maastricht university have made it safely to Manipal university to meet their Indian colleagues within the MSc./MPH programs. This Monday morning started off with a meeting for all the committee coordinators organizing various events and activities over the next two weeks.
The committees include: communications, workshops and the weekend conference. The communications committee is responsible for creating the daily newspaper that will be distributed to all students and faculty through email and social media highlighting events from the day.
The workshops are optional and include: sari dressing, Indian philosophy, classical dance, yoga, among others. Each optional workshop is available at the cost of 400 Indian rupees. Each respective coordinator is responsible for overlooking the duties assigned to each committee.
