Global Health Symposium May 1 – Daily Recap
Overview of Day: Stakeholder Meetings
Yesterday was an exciting day for the students! They had the opportunity to meet professionals who are working in the field related their policy cluster.
After a plenary introduction, all groups had the chance to converse with each stakeholder for 45 minutes.
The discussions helped to identify gaps in the system maps, provide background information to the various challenges each professional faced, and give an insight into the reality of working in a Global Health context.
Evening at the Beach
After the stakeholder sessions wrapped up, the Manipal students organized buses which would take those who were interested to a nearby beach. This gave students and faculty a chance to interact and network with one another in a casual setting. Additionally, it was the perfect evening to stroll through the sand and appreciate India’s natural beauty.
Today, there will be another opportunity to learn more about the history and culture of the region. The Manipal students have organized an excursion during the morning to a few sites, including the Monolithic statue of Bahubali and the Thousand pillar temple.
