Dr. Andrea Baumann – V-P Global Health, Nursing Health Services Research Unit (NHSRU) Scientific Director and McMaster’s PAHO/WHO CC Centre Director – attended the meeting with Deputy Director Dr. Ruta Valaitis and Associate Dean of McMaster’s School of Nursing, Dr. Carolyn Byrne.
PANMCC is composed of the PAHO/WHO Collaborating Centres for Nursing Human Resources Development and Patient Safety based in the Americas, including Canada, the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean. Each year, the PANMCC meets to discuss activities focusing on collaborating centre goals, as well as collaborative activities with other centres.
McMaster’s current activities follow the April 2015 Universal Health Coverage and Universal Access to Health: Advanced Practice Nursing Summit, hosted at McMaster and organized by PAHO/WHO, McMaster University, and the Canadian Centre for Advanced Practice Nursing Research (CCAPNR).
In addition to the webinar series, McMaster has created a report highlighting outcomes of the April summit, and is investigating partnerships with national and international colleagues to secure necessary funding for continued activities.
McMaster University has been a PAHO/WHO Collaborating Centre since 1992. The Centre at McMaster works collaboratively with faculty across disciplines within the university, and in coordination with the Global Network of Collaborating Centres for Nursing and Midwifery.
