McMaster MSc Global Health Receives CBIE Award for Outstanding International Education Program
McMaster University’s Master of Science in Global Health program will receive the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE) Panorama Award for Outstanding International Education Program, the CBIE announced this week. This prestigious award recognizes innovation and excellence in design, planning, implementation and management of high quality endeavours in international education.
Associate V-P and Director of the Global Health program at McMaster, Dr. Andrea Baumann, said, “We are honoured to receive this award. Our internationalization strategy at McMaster seeks to extend reach, dissolve borders, and create experiences that are unique, collaborative, and global. We are constantly seeking innovative ways to equip our students with the skills and experience they need to be successful in the complex field of global health.”
A collaborative offering with Maastricht University in the Netherlands, the MSc Global Health program launched in 2010 to address emerging challenges in globalization and health and prepare future professionals for careers in a globalized world. Since then, enrolment has tripled, with partnerships expanding to include universities in India (Manipal), Norway (University College of Southeast Norway), Thailand (Thammasat) and Colombia (Rosario).
CBIE’s 49th Annual Conference, showcasing innovators, leaders, services professionals and emerging stars in the field of international education, will take place November 22?25 in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
