Global Health Office Hosts Learning Exchange with Kuwait Visitors
This week, the Global Health Office hosted Dr. Isam Zabalawi, President and Mr. Sager Al Sharhan, Deputy Managing Partner Industry of the Australian College of Kuwait (ACK). The objective of the visit was to learn more about McMaster’s Engineering programs and global program offerings – both graduate and undergraduate – and to explore opportunities for collaborative research and faculty exchange.
Located in Kuwait City, ACK is a private institution with a historical relationship to Central Queensland University, Australia. It is comprised of Engineering, Business, Aviation and Maritime sectors, with the primary language of instruction and communication in English. The School of Engineering at ACK is currently undergoing progressive change, growth, and development, with an aim to improve the education and experiences of its engineering students. As ACK is also making updates to their laboratory and classroom facilities, the visitors were keen to explore McMaster’s on-campus laboratories.
Zabalawi and Al Sharhan met with Dr. Andrea Baumann, Associate V-P, Global Health and director of the MSc Global Health program, as well as Dr. Tim Davidson, Chair, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Dr. Michael Justason, Associate Director (Acting), W Booth School of Engineering Practice and Technology.
