New VIDEO: Global is local – Spotlight on David Hill, Global Health alumnus working at Mac
International education week kicks off today, highlighting the impact that international education has in preparing students for the world. MSc Global Health alumnus David Hill graduated from the program in 2015 and is now the program’s academic advisor. Like Hill, many of the program’s graduates go on to make a global impact locally, securing employment right here in Canada.
“You don’t have to travel abroad to work in global health,”explains Hill. “The value of international education and international work experience is that it allows you to cultivate a skill set that is valued and critical for today’s cross-cultural work environments,” he says.
The MSc Global Health program has been recognized for innovation and excellence in international education, receiving the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE) Award in 2015.
Hill explains that working with the program has provided him with an exciting opportunity to play a role in shaping the global health education of students, both in Canada and around the world.
